Trump Praises Ramaswamy's Leadership and Values
Indian-American businessman Vivek Ramaswamy is set to run for next year's election to the governorship of Ohio. Ramaswamy received support from former U.S. President Donald Trump in a statement last week where he called the candidate "something special."
The President declared that Vivek Ramaswamy is currently a candidate for the position of Governor of Ohio-a position very dear to his heart. He mentioned, in this regard, the instances of his election victories in 2016, 2020, and 2024, and underlined that he knows Ramaswamy well from the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Trump referred to Ramaswamy’s intelligence, dedication, and patriotism, describing him as “a very good person who loves our country.”

Trump added that Ramaswamy would prioritize Ohio's economic development, border security, and election integrity if elected governor. He also cited Ramaswamy's stand on law and order and punishing immigration-related crimes.
Background of Vivek Ramaswamy
Vivek Ramaswamy was born in Ohio to parents who immigrated from Kerala, India. He earned a degree in biology from Harvard University. In 2024, he ran against Trump in the Republican presidential primary and later withdrew, very publicly to endorse him. Since exiting the race, Ramaswamy has supported Trump’s campaign efforts.
