The Unique Identification Authority of India has just launched an all-new Aadhaar mobile application. This will not only help users in securely storing Aadhaar details on their phones but also in sharing the same wherever required with ease. It is paperless, easy, and convenient to use digitally.
As per UIDAI, the application can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android users and from the Apple App Store for iPhone users.
Difference from the mAadhaar App
While UIDAI has indeed provided an application called mAadhaar, this is different and simpler.
It does not include features such as:
- Digital Aadhaar card download
- PVC card order
- Email address or mobile number verification
- Virtual ID generation
This is a new app designed only for securely storing Aadhaar details, which one can share with others quickly when the need arises.

With the application, one can carry his Aadhaar digitally without having the physical card.

How to Use the App
Here's how you can get started with the new Aadhaar app:
- Download the app from either Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Grant necessary permissions and accept the terms and conditions.
- Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Verify your mobile number with complete face authentication. Set a security PIN to secure your account. After the setup, you can use the application to manage and share your Aadhaar information.
