Preparations Underway For Putin's Visit To India In December

Putin to Visit India

Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to visit India in December this year. Russian state media reports confirm that the Kremlin is finalizing the preparations related to his visit. The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that preparations for a visit are advancing quickly.

Expected Agreements During the Visit

According to several media reports, India and Russia are likely to ink a labor exchange agreement during Putin's visit. When asked about this, Peskov said that the details of agreements will be disclosed shortly.

Presently, Russia's emerging economy faces a lack of skilled professionals, especially in the construction, textile, engineering, and electronics sectors. With the proposed agreement, more than 70,000 workers and specialists are likely to find jobs in Russia.

Previous Visits by Putin and Recent Meetings

This will be Putin's first visit to India since 2021. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Putin have met several times over the past year. Modi visited Russia in July for a bilateral summit, and the two leaders also met in Kazan during the BRICS Summit in October.

They also met recently during the SCO summit in China, where they discussed multiple regional and international issues.
