The counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Elections is underway. The ruling NDA alliance is leading at the moment. With the JDU leading in quite a few constituencies, the party has stated that it expects the Nitish Kumar government to return to power. According to the party, Bihar is ready for the continuation of stable governance and also exuded confidence of its win.
In Lakhisarai, BJP leader and Deputy Chief Ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Sinha spoke to the media. He said people will give a verdict and everybody should respect their verdict. Whatever opposition is doing, people will give them a befitting reply.
Opposition parties have also claimed confidence in their performance. RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari stated that results will go in the favor of the Mahagathbandhan alliance. He said Nitish Kumar's government will end and that their alliance is prepared to form the next government. He added that all their senior leaders are monitoring the counting process with keen interest to avoid any irregularities in the process. He said that voters will choose Tejashwi Yadav to lead the future of Bihar.
Officials began counting postal ballots at 8 am on Friday. The NDA alliance is leading in 130 seats based on the trends so far, crossing the required majority mark of 122 while the Mahagathbandhan alliance is leading in 80 seats.
