Bihar Election Results: DK Shivakumar Says Congress Needs New Strategies

DK Shivakumar on Bihar verdict

The opposition India alliance suffered a major blow in the Bihar Assembly elections as it is likely to lose many seats compared to the previous elections. Reacting to the results, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said that the Congress and the India alliance need to work out new strategies for future elections. He termed the latest results as a lesson to the party and its allies.

DK Shivakumar said, "The Bihar results reflect the people's decision. They act as a lesson for us. The Congress and the India alliance need to develop new strategies, and we will work on this." Asked whether the rise in women's voting percentage and the financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 given to women contributed to the NDA's victory, he said, "This needs further study. I have not received a full report yet. I will comment later."

Akhilesh Yadav Claims Revision of Voters' List Influenced Results

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday accused the NDA of rigging the election through SIR of the voters’ list in Bihar, saying that this alleged manipulation has now become visible. Such actions, he said, will not be possible in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. They will not allow such practices, he added. He also said, “We have ‘PPTV’, similar to CCTV. ‘PDA Prahari TV’ stays alert and stops the BJP,” in a tweet on his social media handle.
