Political Meeting Draws Attention
Chirag Paswan met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after the NDA alliance won a clear victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. Paswan visited Nitish Kumar's residence to congratulate him on the alliance winning a fifth consecutive term. The images of the meeting went viral as he shared them on social media. The meeting has become a point of interest in state politics with discussions still continuing on the role of leaders within the alliance.
Speculation Over Deputy CM Position
Paswan said his visit was only to congratulate the Chief Minister for the strong mandate. Political speculation, however, is that he might be interested in the post of Deputy Chief Minister. The good performance by LJP (Ram Vilas) in the election results has given a boost to the discussion. Sources also claimed that during the meeting, Paswan and Nitish Kumar could have talked on this issue.
Election Results Strengthen NDA Alliance
Results of the two-phase Bihar elections were announced on Friday. NDA alliance won a convincing victory in the state by securing 202 seats out of 245 seats. LJP (Ram Vilas), who was able to hold just one seat five years ago, performed far better this time around as it managed to win 19 seats. Chirag Paswan is credited for playing an important role in this improved performance by the party.
