- India introduced its autonomous anti-drone patrol vehicle for the first time. Indrajaal Drone Defence India launched the Indrajaal Ranger. Retired Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey attended the event as the chief guest.
- Pandey said that future wars will not involve conventional armaments only. Drones, he added, play a key role these days. Indian forces have intercepted drones coming from Pakistan many times, he explained. According to him, the Indrajaal Ranger can neutralize such suspicious drones. He told journalists that this launch is an important step in national security. He congratulated the work of the Indrajaal team.
Purpose Behind the Launch Date
Kiran Raju, the CEO of Indrajaal Drone Defence India, explained why they chose the date of the 26/11 attack for the launch. He said the date honours those that lost their lives in the attack. He cited the money spent by youngsters on drugs goes to Pakistani terrorist groups. He said the issues create problems in the border regions of India.
Raju said India shares around 15,000 kilometers of land borders with other countries and that drug trafficking across the borders has become a serious problem. The Indrajaal Ranger was invented to help solve the problem. The vehicle operates as an anti-drone patrol for not just defense threats but also drones used to smuggle drugs. During tests, the Ranger neutralized 70 drones in six days. The vehicle has a radius operation of 10 kilometers. It deploys a cyber-trigger and hacking mechanism to capture or crash drones. Raju said each drone intercepted saves human lives and the environment.
