Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured protection to the citizens without any hesitation and said the government would not yield to external threats. On his tour to Karnataka, he visited Sri Krishna Math in Udupi on Friday. He joined the mass recitation of Bhagavad Gita by a large gathering there and recited the chosen verses. Later, he spoke to the devotees and participants.
Messages Drawn From the Bhagavad Gita
Modi said, the preachings of Lord Krishna are timeless and relevant even as decisions are being taken for the country. Explaining this further, Modi said that principles such as Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sarvajan Hitaya reflect values from the Gita. The message on protection of women supports the current reservation law. Modi added, Gita teaches to stop wrongdoing when necessary for peace.
Remarks on National Security
The Prime Minister drew a comparison between the reactions of the past and the present policies with regard to terror attacks. He said that previous governments did not act strongly, whereas the present government takes a tough stand. He added that Operation Sindoor was proof of that. Modi mentioned "Mission Sudarshan Chakra," calling it a national security web that would counter adversities. This mission proposes a technology-based shield in key areas in the next decade.
