Strict control over personal items
- The security group of Putin prepares every detail of his trip beforehand. The Presidential Security Service reaches the host country about a month in advance and inspects the hotel where he will be staying. This team includes officers from the Federal Security Service and the Foreign Intelligence Service.
- They bring all of Putin's personal things from Russia, including soap, shampoo, hand wash, and even toothpaste. He doesn't use mobile phones. He only uses a special communication system to talk with people. A special booth is fitted in his hotel room meant for this communication purpose.
- He also doesn't use the hotel bathroom. A mobile bathroom arrives from Russia and is set up in his room.
The Presidential Aircraft
- Putin flies in an Ilyushin IL-96-300PU jet. Many refer to it as a “flying Kremlin.” It has meeting rooms, a conference room, a bedroom, a bar, a gym, and a medical room.
- The interior has gold-plated elements. It carries up to 262 passengers. During international travel, the plane is accompanied by fighter jets. Traveling with the main plane is a group of other backup aircraft. If any technical problem occurs, foreign technicians are not allowed to repair it.
- About 100 security personnel and assistants accompany Putin. They quarantine for two weeks prior to the trip.
Command Post in the Sky
- The name IL-96-300PU includes "PU," an acronym of the punkt upravleniya, meaning "command post." There is a nuclear command system aboard the aircraft. Putin can issue nuclear-related orders while flying.
- The plane has the capability to fly at 43,000 feet and refuel mid-air.
Armored Vehicle Transported Abroad
- It is during foreign visits that Putin uses the Aurus Senat car. The vehicle forms part of his official convoy from the year 2018 onwards and is always transported from Russia.
- Its safety features remain classified. The vehicle is resistant to bullets, grenades, and chemical threats. Even when all tires fail, it is capable of continuing to move. It includes emergency oxygen support, reaches 249 km/h, and has a mini-fridge and emergency exit.
- During the SCO summit in China, Prime Minister Modi once traveled in this car with Putin. Putin also gifted a similar model to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un as well. Food Security Systems The food and water of Putin also come from Russia. During foreign visits, special chefs and hotel staff from Moscow arrive. His security team arranges a dedicated lift for the Kremlin chef. Food is checked by a portable laboratory before serving. Multi-Layer Body Protection He is at all times surrounded by a security system of four tiers. According to reports, he wears a bulletproof jacket during public appearances. His personal guards have briefcases that transform into shields. Their guns can shoot 40 rounds per minute. Bodyguards will retire at age 35.
