Global Economy Shows Resilience Despite Tariff Pressures

Updated OECD Outlook for Global Growth

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development estimated that the global economy would grow at 3.2 percent this year. This growth rate is slightly below the 3.3 percent recorded in 2024. It is still higher than the 2.9 percent estimate made in June for 2025. The OECD also affirmed that the global growth may slow to 2.9 percent in 2026.

Revised US and Major Economy Forecasts

The US growth forecast has increased to 2 percent, up from the 1.6 percent estimate in June. However, this remains below the 2.8 percent growth the US achieved in 2024.
The OECD is forecasting that China will see 5 percent growth this year and in 2024. India is predicted to remain the fastest-growing major economy at 6.7 percent growth this year.
