Current Status of IndiGo Service Disruptions
IndiGo flight operations are disrupted across the country. The airline cancelled over 350 domestic services on Monday. For the seventh consecutive day, the disruption has been continuing due to the issues, though the airline is working to stabilize its schedule. Delhi Airport released an advisory for passengers.
Details of Cancellations at Key Airports
A total of 134 IndiGo flights originating from Delhi, 127 from Bengaluru, 71 from Chennai, and 20 from Ahmedabad were cancelled this morning. More cancellations were also reported at Mumbai and Kolkata airports. Delhi Airport has asked passengers to frequently check their flight status before heading to the airport. Officials say efforts are on to reduce disruptions.
DGCA Regulatory Action
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, or DGCA, issued show-cause notices to IndiGo's chief executive officer Peter Elbers concerning the severe service disruptions. The regulator has extended by an additional 24 hours the deadline for IndiGo to respond.
