Google Introduces 'Emergency Live Video' For Android Phones

Google has rolled out a new safety feature for Android users called Emergency Live Video. It allows users to share a live video instantly with emergency personnel. According to a blog post by Google, the feature will work through the Android ELS service. The user taps once to begin live video when emergency responders request information and can continue streaming as necessary.

Sameer Samat, president of the Android Ecosystem at Google, says describing one's crisis is hard, so the team designed this feature to make communication clear. This feature will share the exact location in case of an emergency using GPS, mobile networks, Wi-Fi, and other sensors. Google said that this feature is first launching in the United States, Germany, and Mexico. Still, it promised more countries to follow soon. The company shared that this tool can help responders in road accidents and in other severe weather conditions.
