Peace talks remain ongoing, but there seem to be rising tensions between Ukraine and Russia. Ukraine launched an attack on a Russian oil field that took place recently. The attack occurred in the Caspian Sea and involved the use of long-range drones. It aims at reducing oil revenues for Russia. Consequently, it will affect Russia's continued operations within the war. A senior government official documented that it targeted oil reservoirs within the oil field. Plans exist for attacks on oil infrastructure within Russia. No response from Russia on these attacks exists yet.
According to reports, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the nations of Europe have offered light battle tanks, air defense systems, and anti-tank missiles. Other weapons were also offered.
It should be noted that President Zelenskyy made an appeal for more weapons from nations belonging to Europe. Moreover, he will discuss matters pertaining to the economy of Ukraine with the United States.
At the same time, ex-US President Donald Trump spoke about the conflict that is still taking place. Trump stated that there have been 25,000 deaths due to the conflict taking place between Ukraine and Russia. Trump expressed his concern about the fact that there has been no end to the conflict despite all attempts made.
