AI Will Not Eliminate Jobs

"If people don't develop skills in AI, they're going to struggle in their job," said Microsoft India & South Asia's president, Puneet Chandhok, when speaking at an event called the Microsoft AI Tour, claiming that artificial intelligence is not a job killer.

Effects of AI on Jobs

Chandhok continued by saying that job patterns in employment are set to change with the advent of AI. Jobs can be divided into small groups of tasks. The tasks can move from one job to another. Long careers involving a single job are also set to become a rarity.

Need for Continuous Learning

Chandhok stressed the importance of learning on a daily basis. It is essential that professional people learn on a daily basis, he said. The importance of keeping up with the latest technology is necessary for job security, he added. The conditions that exist in Delhi are what Chandhok described while giving his address.

Microsoft Leadership Perspective

Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, has commented on the adoption of AI. The adoption of AI models would see them become available as common tools. Data would be a strategic asset for businesses, he said.
