The list of countries that are part of this program includes: - Japan - South Korea - Singapore - The Netherlands - The UK - Israel - The UAE - Australia
India is not a part of this agreement.
Political Reaction in India
The opposition Congress party in India reacted to the exclusion of India from the list, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi being criticized. Senior Congress party leader Jairam Ramesh clarified that the aim of the program is to decrease the domination of China’s high-tech supply chains. Ramesh stated that his party was not surprised by India’s exclusion in the list. This came following the tension that has been experienced in the relationship between Prime Minister Modi and ex-US President Donald Trump.

Minister Jairam Ramesh has also cited a recent tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, from Prime Minister Modi. In that tweet, Prime Minister Modi spoke of a call he received from Donald Trump, who he called a “great friend.”

Prime Minister Modi made the announcement during the AI Action Summit, which recently concluded in France. The event is set to be the inaugural AI summit to take place in a developing country.
