According to a report by Stanford University, *2025 Global AI Vibrancy Tool*, India occupies third place globally regarding Artificial Intelligence development and usage. The ranking is based on *2024 Global AI Vibrancy* data. Its position is up by four places.

- Policy decisions
- Public perception
- Infrastructure
The third, based on these parameters, goes to:
- United States, 78.6 points
- China comes third with 36.95 points.
- The total score for India is 21.59
Other countries that scored less than India include:
- South Korea: 17.24
- United Kingdom 16.64
- Singapore hosts 16
- Spain 16
- United Arab Emirates 16.06
- Japan has a total of 16
Reasons for Improvement in India
It came seventh in the last ranking. The country moved up four steps from the previous ranking. This development is due to its very commendable performance in AI research and development. Other contributing factors include: Improvement of AI innovative products Patents increased Public trust in AI technology was built. Responsible AI practices applied in AI systems. More investments in AI research and other projects. Jobs were created in the AI industry
Also, in the Artificial Intelligence skill building and education systems, India is a strong performer. While it slipped by five places as far as decisions and implementation of policies go.
GLOBAL INVESTMENTS IN AI
Few countries have revealed their plans to invest heavily in AI: - Canada: $2.4 billion [approximately ₹21,600 crores] - China: $47.5 billion semiconductor fund [approximately ₹4.27 lakh crores] - France: 109 billion Euros [approximately ₹11.44 lakh crores] - India: $1.25 billion [approximately ₹11,250 crores] - Saudi Arabia: $100 billion [approximately ₹9 lakh crores] Such investments are indicative of rising global interest in the research and development of AI.
