IndiGo CEO Says Difficult Period Is Over

The CEO of IndiGo, Peter Elbers, thanked his employees for their continued support during the ongoing crisis. He recorded a video message targeting his employees at IndiGo. In the video, Peter Elbers mentioned that their airline has resumed its flights every day.

“We had a big challenge. The employees of IndiGo are a family and faced this crisis together as a family. We remained united. I would like to thank the pilots, flight attendants, airport employees, and customer service representatives for their support. You stand with us at IndiGo,” he said.

Elbers mentioned that there is no single reason for the cancellation of flights. There are many things that led to the current situation. He asked the employees not to be anxious but to do their jobs. He also asked employees not to think about the current crisis. Elbers indicated that the entire management is trying to understand the problems being faced by employees.

“IndiGo employs almost 65,000 persons. Today, we have more than 850 million customers. We adhere to the strictest safety standards. We are continuing to operate in India as we did from the time of inception of the business,” he said.

Hundreds of flights operated by IndiGo have been canceled since the 2nd of December. This has happened in the whole country.
