Google Pay Launches Co-Branded Credit Card On RuPay Network

Google Pay has launched its first ever co-branded credit card in collaboration with Axis Bank. The Google Pay credit card belongs to the RuPay family. Users are able to associate this credit card with their UPI handles for making payments to the merchant. The Google Pay credit card has the facility to provide instant cashback and rewards, where users receive the cashback amount immediately. They are able to use this amount in the subsequent transaction. This has been confirmed by Google’s Senior Director & Product Manager, Mr. Sharath Bulusu.

At present, RuPay UPI cards are being widely accepted as they facilitate credit card-like transactions using UPI. Credit cards from Mastercard and Visa credit cards do not support UPI. RuPay as well as UPI services are handled by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
