A New Pixel Phone Every Year: Google Launches Pixel Upgrade Program In India

Google has announced the launch of its Pixel Upgrade Program in India. With this program, users will be able to upgrade to a new Pixel every year. According to Google, the initiative has been taken to make buying a new Pixel smartphone simpler, with better financing options.

How Pixel Upgrade Program Works

To enroll in the program, customers have to purchase a Pixel phone on a no-cost EMI scheme for 24 months. Monthly EMI starts at ₹3,333. Upon paying EMIs, the customer is qualified to upgrade their phone between the 9th to the 15th month. If a user doesn't upgrade, they will still be able to continue paying EMIs for 24 months and retain the phone.

Step-by-Step Program Process

It follows four clear steps in the Pixel Upgrade Program:

  • Buy a Pixel 10 series smartphone on a no-cost EMI scheme
  • Become eligible for an upgrade between the 9th and 15th month
  • Sell your current Pixel phone to Cashify, a Google partner.
  • The amount received should be utilized to clear the balance left on the existing phone.
  • Cashify evaluates the old phone and transfers the value directly to the user's bank account.

Exchange Benefits and Partnerships

Under this exchange scheme, Google offers ₹7,000 as the exchange bonus amount. An assured bank guarantee for customers is also provided. The program is run in association with Bajaj Finance, Cashify, and HDFC Bank.

Availability of Programs

Google says that the Pixel Upgrade Program will be available in India till June 30, 2026.
