The Indian domestic IT sector is definitely experiencing positive signs of a refreshing turnaround. In this respect, according to the report “IT Workforce Trends in India 2025,” published by Quess Corp, overall hiring sentiment registered an increase of 16 percent compared to last year. This led to the creation of 1.8 million jobs in 2025.
Global Capability Centers Drive Hiring Growth
- International companies have also given employment to a large number of professionals in their Global Capability Centers in India. As per the report, the Global Capability Centers have contributed to 27 percent of total hiring in the year 2025. In contrast to that, their contribution to total hiring in the previous year, i.e., 2024, is just 15 percent.
- Product companies and Software as a Service (SaaS) providers had increased hiring as well during this time. However, the growth in the information technology services and the consulting segment was moderate. The hiring in the startup space is low as the investments are low as well, and the growth is in single digits as far as 2024 is concerned.
Job Recruitment Trends Across Different Levels of Work Experience
- Skilled professionals took less time to get employed. Mid-level professionals, those with 4-10 years of work experience, filled 65 percent of the total jobs. In the year 2024, 50 percent of the total employment consists of this category. Entry-level employment accounts for 15 percent of the total demand.
- There was an increase in contract roles during the year. The percentage of jobs created through contracting was in the range of 10 to 11 percent. This is an increase from the previous year, which stood at 8 percent in 2024.
Sectors of high
The demands for recruitment have been largely increased for several regions. These regions include AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data-driven jobs, BFSI, SaaS, telecommunication, and manufacturing.
Foxconn Hires 30,000 Employees Near Bengaluru
Foxconn has started recruiting heavily in their iPhone manufacturing unit located near Devanahalli, in and around Bengaluru. The manufacturing plant covers an area of 300 acres. In the last 8 to 9 months, the total strength added was around 30,000.
Women Represent the Majority of the Newly Hired Employees
About 80 percent of the newly hired staff are females. Most of the recruits fall between the age bracket of 19 and 24 years. Reporters said that the production of testing phones for the iPhone 16 started this year, specifically between April and May, at the plant. The plant has also begun the production of iPhone 17 Pro Max. Close to 80 percent of the locally produced iPhones are exported.If the plant operates at full capacity next year, the total employment level may increase to 50,000 workers.
Employees' Facilities & Investment
There are women workers who have moved to the organization from other states. Foxconn will provide living quarters, medical care, and schools on-site. The workers receive free living quarters, cheap food, and an average salary of ₹18,000 per month. The total investment by Foxconn in the plant at Devanahalli is ₹20,000 crore. It may be noted that the Tamil Nadu plant employs around 41,000 employees.
