Infosys Announces Entry-Level Salary Up To Rs. 21 Lakh

Infosys has announced that it has introduced a new compensation scheme that comes with the highest starting salary offer for all Indian information technology companies. The company launched this benefit with the aim of enhancing its artificial intelligence services and acquiring qualified digital talent. The highest annual package for this compensation scheme can go up to Rs.21 lakh.

Off-Campus Recruitment Drive Planned

According to reports from the English news agencies, Infosys is all set to hold an off-campus recruitment drive shortly. The recruitment drive would be based on engineering and computer science students. The selected candidates would be employed as professionals in technical fields. The annual package would be between Rs. 7 lakh and Rs. 21 lakh.

Suitable Positions & Remuneration Structure

The posts that are available are Specialist Programmer and Digital Specialist Engineer. The posts mentioned above are further categorized on different levels.

  • Specialist Programmer L3 (Trainee): 21 lakh rupees annual salary
  • Specialist Programmer L2 (Trainee): Rs.16 lakh per annum
  • Specialist Programmer L1 (Trainee):  Rs. 11 lakhs per annum
  • Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee): Rs. 7 lakhs per annum

Applicants with a BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MCA, and Integrated MSc (Computer Science) degree can apply for this post.

Context of Entry-Level Salaries in IT Sector

  • The starting salary in the IT industry in India has paradoxically seen no change in the last ten years. The average starting salary has merely moved from Rs. 2.45 lakh to Rs. 3.55 lakh. The salary of the CEO, on the other hand, has significantly increased. The average annual salary of the CEO has soared by 835%, from Rs. 3.37 crore in 2011-12 to Rs. 31.5 crore in 2021-22.
  • Other technology companies pay better salaries for experts in particular fields. TCS pays a salary of 7 lakhs and 11 lakhs in Digital and Prime Elite programs respectively. Wipro pays a maximum of 6.5 lakhs in Turbo and WILP programs.
