During the meeting, they had talks about the current state of affairs. Trump hosted them at his resort located in Florida.
Trump Highlights Diplomatic Achievements
- Addressing the press, Donald Trump noted that no deadline has yet been set for solving the conflict. "It's primarily about winning the war, and then we'll take care of everything else,” Trump pointed out.
- He further revealed that the final stage of diplomatic action has now been attained.
- He has already made contact with President Vladimir Putin of Russia through a phone call and has claimed this call to be very productive.
- He made this statement through his social platform, Truth Social.
- Trump stated that both Russia and Ukraine want peace and also said President Putin is sincere about the talks. He said both President Putin and President Zelenskyy agree to an agreement based on the situation. Trump agreed that many lives have been lost due to the conflict and also said it is a very complex situation. He appreciated the efforts of Zelenskyy and the people of Ukraine.
Zelenskyy on Security Issues
Prior to the meeting, President Zelenskyy indicated that security guarantees for Ukraine would be among topics that he would like to discuss. He said that the talks would chiefly revolve around a 20-point plan that was almost 90 percent completed. Zelenskyy wished that European countries would be represented in the meeting, together with Ukraine and America, although this would possibly be impossible due to a short timeframe for discussion.
