Sheikh Hasina Criticizes Interim Government Amid Ongoing Uncertainty In Bangladesh

Political instability is still on the cards in Bangladesh as former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed alarm about the country’s present situation. She blamed the temporary government of Muhammad Yunus for making the country insecure and throwing it into a hard period.

Public Statement for the New Year

Sheikh Hasina communicated her New Year message to the people of Bangladesh. The Awami League, her party, disseminated the statement via X, previously known as Twitter. In her message, she mentioned that already the culprits behind the country’s destruction have been marked down.

Accusations Toward the Interim Government

Hasina blamed non-transparent people to be the ones capitalizing on the situation and keeping the public in a dire state. She referred to the interim government as an era of greed and personal gain. In her view, the injustices done have totally darkened the nation and left it insecure in terms of national stability.

Doubts About Economy and Security

She remarked that the economic situation has been aggravated by civil unrest and lack of security. Thus, she pointed out that the declining economic situation is partly the result of foreign investors being in a limbo. Therefore, she called for taking precautions so as not to let the crisis further escalate.

Appeal for Togetherness

Sheikh Hasina at the begging of New Year urged the people of the country to be united and fight for Bangladesh. She acknowledged the developing feeling of fear throughout the nation and stated that currently, Bangladesh lacks international respect. She used the present situation in her party’s time while in power to make a comparison, saying that people then were living together in peace. She quite worryingly seemed to imply that such conditions no longer exist.
