Kia has introduced the second-gen Seltos in the Indian market. The new Seltos steps in the mid-size SUV segment along with an updated design, features and powertrain options. The price starts at ₹10.99 lakh and goes up to ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia will take the deliveries after the second week of January. The bookings were opened on December 11 against a token amount of ₹25,000.
Price and Variants
Kia Seltos is presented in five trims: HTE, HTK, HTX, GTX, and X-Line. The HTE variant is the base one, while GTX and X-Line are the highest ones. The prices for each variant differ according to the engine and transmission choices.
Engine and Transmission Options
The new Seltos offers three engine options:
- 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit with 115 hp and 144 Nm torque
- 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine of 160 hp and 253 Nm
- 1.5-litre diesel producing 116 hp and 250 Nm
The manual (MT), intelligent variable transmission (IVT), dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and automatic transmission (AT) are the options for transmission.
Exterior Design Updates
The new Seltos adopts Kia's Tiger Nose grille, which is based on the global model and is similar to the old one. Along with this, new LED lighting elements and 18-inch alloy wheels are features. Behind the car, there is a tailgate with connected LED taillights and more. The SUV has a panoramic sunroof, an integrated rear spoiler, and a shark fin antenna.The SUV can be painted in 10 different colors, among which the new ones are Morning Haze and Magma Red.
Dimensions and Interior Space

Kia claims the new Seltos is the longest SUV in its segment. It measures 4,460 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height. The wheelbase is 2,690 mm, which is 80 mm longer than the previous model. This increase improves rear seat legroom.
- Inside, the cabin features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen combined into a single display panel. It also offers front ventilated seats, 64-color ambient lighting, and a D-cut dual-tone leather steering wheel.
Safety and Technology Features
- Among the main characteristics of the SUV, safety features can be mentioned first such as six airbags, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill start assist, disc brakes on all four wheels, and a 360-degree view camera. Moreover, the SUV is equipped with an electronic parking brake as well as remote functions with over-the-air (OTA) updates.
- Seltos delivers Level 2 ADAS functionalities like lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, navigation based smart cruise control and traction control. To add to the off-road capabilities, it also offers three drive modes for Snow, Mud, and Sand.
Competition on the Market
The Kia Seltos does not only face the competition from the mid-size SUVs such as the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Honda Elevate but also stands alongside them.
