Reliance Industries' Chairman Mukesh Ambani has unveiled the company's plan to invest a significant amount in Gujarat. He disclosed it during his speech at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Summit for Kutch and Saurashtra which was happening in Rajkot. The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, was the one who kicked off the event.
Reliance to Pump More Money into Gujarat
- Mukesh Ambani mentioned that Reliance Industries was the largest investor in Gujarat up until now. The past year saw the company injecting a whopping ₹3.5 lakh crore into the state. He continued to say that Reliance would raise this amount to ₹7 lakh crore over the coming five years.
- Ambani was of the view that the augmented investment would result in the creation of a large workforce and the opening up of new job avenues for the youth. He reiterated that in the company's long-term growth plans, Gujarat was still playing a major role.
Comments on PM Modi’s Leadership
- Ambani was all praises for Prime Minister Modi and even called him the “invincible shield of protection” for the nation. He remarked that Modi has indeed fortified India's civilizational confidence and brought it to the limelight on the world stage. Moreover, Ambani also asserted that the present time in India is marked by a national confidence and ambition which are traits that were never seen before in the country's history.
- He indicated that it was Modi’s vision that has decided the development path of India for the next few decades. To him, this era will be of transition when India will be considered not only a resource-rich nation but also a performance-based one, and thus a follower in the global market but a force to be reckoned with.
India's Stability While Others are Uncertain
In a context of global geopolitical uncertainty, Mukesh Ambani asserted that India is still a safe place under the auspices of PM Modi. He mentioned that the country was protected from external threats because of its strong governance and clear policy.
Gujarat’s Role in Reliance’s Growth
- Ambani said Reliance has a deep and lasting connection with Gujarat. He described the state as central to the company’s origin, stability, and expansion. He also stated that the Reliance Foundation is prepared to support the government’s vision of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games in Ahmedabad.
- As part of this effort, Reliance will collaborate with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multi-Sports Complex in Naranpura.
