Countries That Participated
- The launch ceremony received attendance from 19 different countries. The West Asian countries Saudi Arabia Qatar and the United Arab Emirates attended the event. The other countries that took part in the event included Egypt Turkey Azerbaijan Pakistan Morocco Indonesia Paraguay and Hungary.
- The establishment of the council as an international platform has led to countries responding with caution because of this development.
Countries That Did Not Attend
- The inauguration event missed several important countries which declined to attend. The nations that stayed away from the event included Britain China Russia India and Germany. NATO members Norway and Sweden have already announced that they will not join the council. France Britain Italy and Canada have also expressed unwillingness to participate.Trump invited nearly 60 countries to become members of the council.
- Trump recently sent an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join the council. India has not taken a decision. The Indian government is conducting a detailed examination of the invitation because it contains important political and diplomatic matters regarding Gaza.
Comments on Global Conflicts
- During the event, Trump also spoke about the Russia–Ukraine war. He said the conflict must end and stressed that too many lives have already been lost. He called for an immediate stop to the bloodshed.
- Trump met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Davos on Thursday. He described the meeting as positive and said the discussion went well.
