The United States President Donald Trump declared that India is prepared to buy Venezuelan oil imports. The President made this declaration to journalists who were present with him aboard Air Force One.
Trump’s Comments on Venezuela Oil Trade
- Trump addressed a reporter inquiry about whether Venezuela would send oil to China in exchange for its financial assistance. The United States government supports China reaching an oil agreement according to him. He said that the US has already established a deal with Venezuela.
- According to Trump, India will also be part of this arrangement. He announced that India will buy Venezuelan oil through his statement which explained their plans to avoid Iranian imports. He said an understanding has been reached on this issue. The Indian government has not provided any official statement about this matter up to this point.
US Position on Cuba
- Trump also spoke about Cuba during the interaction. The United States intends to conduct diplomatic negotiations with Cuban officials while it intensifies its restrictions against the nation. He explained that oil deliveries to Cuba currently face limitations as part of efforts to persuade the government to start talks.
- He stated that the circumstances do not require development into a situation which results in humanitarian emergencies. Trump predicted that Cuba would eventually start negotiations which would lead to a settlement. He declared that the agreement would result in what he referred to as Cuba obtaining its independence.
