The upcoming AI Impact Summit has caused hotel rooms in Delhi to reach maximum capacity because of its dual impact on hotel occupancy rates. The market currently shows its highest pricing for super luxury room rates. The luxury suite which has a regular price of ₹2 lakh per night now costs up to ₹32 lakh.
Summit Dates and Global Attention
The AI Impact Summit will take place on February 19 and 20. The event has drawn global attention because major technology leaders will attend it first including Google CEO Sundar Pichai and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. More than twenty international delegates are expected to attend the event which has created a need for hotel rooms.
Luxury Suites See Record Pricing
- According to national media reports, the Garden Luxury Suite at the Taj Palace is priced at ₹32 lakh per night, including taxes. The suite which costs ₹2 lakh for regular days has become the standard price of the suite. The summit period brought about higher demand which resulted in price increases for hotel rooms.
- Andaz Delhi reports that its Signature Suite which operates under Hyatt charges guests a nightly fee of ₹3.86 lakh. According to hotel industry officials, all hotels in Delhi have increased their room rates by two to three times because of the upcoming event.
Hotels Report Near-Full Occupancy
- Animesh Kumar who serves as the commercial head of Ibis and Ibis Styles India confirmed that room prices have increased beyond normal levels. The hotel manager of the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group Vineet Kapoor said that most rooms have already been reserved for the summit dates. He added that their hotel will host seven international leaders and delegations.
- The Aeros Hotel management team has declared their intention to implement stronger security measures which will protect their guests. The company is offering visitors details about nearby sightseeing destinations.
