BJP MP Submits Notice
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey submitted a notice to the parliament which requested the Lok Sabha to strip Rahul Gandhi of his membership rights. He requested that Gandhi be removed as an MP and be barred from contesting future elections. Dubey described the notice as a 'substantive motion' to prioritize action on important issues in the House.
Allegations in the Notice
Dubey alleged that Rahul Gandhi frequently visits countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. He also mentioned Gandhi's association with organizations like the Soros Foundation, USAID, and the Ford Foundation. Dubey claimed these links connect Gandhi with anti-India forces. He demanded that authorities execute his request during the zero hour period.
Clarification by Dubey
In an interview with PTI, Dubey said, "Who is funding Rahul Gandhi? How did he get access to the unpublished autobiography? I have mentioned his connections with anti-India forces in the notice." Opposition members staged protests in the Lok Sabha which resulted in the house being suspended until Friday.
Parliamentary Updates
On the same day, both houses of Parliament passed the 'Industrial Relations Code (Amendment) Bill-2026'. This marks the first legislative approval achieved during the early stages of the Budget session.
Rahul Gandhi's Response
Rahul Gandhi used social media to express his response. He said he will continue to fight for farmers, even if a resolution is passed against him or legal action is taken. His sister MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that no one can intimidate him.
Union Minister's Criticism
Union Minister Giriraj Singh criticized Rahul Gandhi. He called him a 'liar' and said Gandhi is trying to create conflict in the country. Singh also questioned Gandhi's knowledge of agriculture, stating that he does not know the difference between barley and wheat or pea and paddy.
