Modi Welcomes Macron To India
  • The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron during his trip to India. Through the social media platform X Modi shared his message. He referred to Macron as a friend while planning to meet him in the Indian cities of Mumbai and Delhi.
  • Modi said that the visit will elevate India-France relations to their highest diplomatic level. He explained that the discussions will concentrate on building stronger partnerships between various fields. He said that the discussions would create advantages for international development.

Macron Arrives in Mumbai

  • Emmanuel Macron arrived at Mumbai airport on Monday night to start his three-day trip. Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received him at the airport.
  • Macron will participate in the AI Impact Summit on December 19 which will take place in Delhi. The summit will focus on artificial intelligence, innovation, and global collaboration. Prime Minister Modi explained that the India AI Impact Expo 2026 functions as a space where people can exchange their concepts and research and creative work.

Rafale Deal Under Discussion

  • During the visit India and France will negotiate a crucial defense treaty. The agreement involves the supply of 114 Rafale fighter jets to India. The contract value amounts to ₹3.25 lakh crore.
  • If the agreement is finalized, it will become the largest defense deal in India’s history. The discussions reflect continued strategic cooperation between the two countries.
