US Official Warns of Possible Large-Scale Attack
- The conflict between Israel and Iran continues to escalate tensions throughout West Asia. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent delivered his strongest statements during an interview with a US media channel.
- He stated that the US military is prepared to carry out a larger attack on Iran than any previous operation. He explained that the mission would focus on destroying Iran's missile manufacturing plants and its missile launch facilities. The Iranian government has built these centers through multiple decades of development.
- Bessent stated that the operation has potential to become one of the most extensive military operations which the United States has ever conducted. His comments come at a time when reports indicate heavy attacks in several parts of Iran, including the capital city of Tehran, since Saturday morning.
US Deploys Additional Aircraft Carrier
- The United States has already sent two aircraft carriers to the region because of increasing tensions between nations. Recent international media reports indicate that another aircraft carrier has also been moved toward the Middle East.
- The USS George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier has crossed the Atlantic Ocean and is heading toward the region. The USS Gerald R. Ford has left its previous location in the Caribbean Sea and has now moved to the Red Sea area.
- The US military base in the area has expanded because of these movements.
Emergency Weapons Support for Israel
- The US State Department has announced the approval of emergency military assistance for Israel. The conflict with Iran has reached a higher level of intensity which led to this decision.
- The United States has provided Israel with a substantial amount of military weapons and ammunition according to the official statement. The package includes around 12,000 bomb casings along with other military equipment.
- Officials in Tel Aviv stated that these supplies will help strengthen Israel’s ability to respond to Iranian attacks.
Attack Reported Near Tehran Airport
- Reports indicate that Israel carried out attacks in several locations in Iran on Friday night. One of the targets was Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran.
- Israeli media reported that part of the airport suffered damage during the attack. Iranian authorities confirmed that a large fire broke out at the location. Emergency teams were deployed, and rescue operations began soon after the incident.
- The situation in the region remains tense as both sides continue military activities.
