New Feature: Claude Dispatch
- Anthropic has developed a new functionality for its AI assistant Claude. Users can utilize Claude Dispatch to conduct remote computer operations from their smartphones.
- This feature enables users to accomplish their work tasks from remote locations because it provides them with necessary computer access. The solution focuses on helping users improve their work efficiency through possibilities of accessing their work systems from any location.
How the Feature Works
Users can send instructions from their smartphone to their PC. The AI assistant processes these instructions and performs tasks on the computer.
For example:
- A user leaves the office for personal work
- The user gets delayed due to traffic
- The user needs to prepare a report and presentation
In this situation, the user can:
- The user needs to use their smartphone device to launch Claude
- The user needs to provide report instructions
- The user needs to show which desktop files and folders he needs to work on
Claude will access the data and generate the required output. The task will be completed before the user returns.
Setup Requirements
To use Claude Dispatch, users must follow these steps:
- Users need to install Claude desktop application on their PC
- The user needs to link their smartphone device to the same Claude account
- The user must keep their personal computer in an operational state
- The user must maintain an internet connection for their personal computer
The system requires ongoing internet access to carry out remote operations.
Availability and Access
Felix Rieseberg shared a demonstration of this feature on X.
Currently:
- The feature is available as a research preview
- Access is limited to Claude Max subscribers
- The company plans to expand availability to Pro users in the future.
