The three countries of Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt are acting as mediators in the ongoing peace negotiations between the United States and Iran which aim to decrease regional conflicts in West Asia.
The officials who participate in the negotiations reported that both nations received a draft plan which contains various elements. The plan includes:
- A 45-day ceasefire
- Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz
The 45-day period exists to provide both parties time to discuss the situation in detail and reach an agreement on a lasting ceasefire.
International media report that the United States and Iran are currently reviewing the draft proposal.
