US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire related to tensions with Iran. He shared the update on the Truth Social platform.
Trump granted the extension after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made a request. Pakistan also asked for a pause in attacks. Trump accepted both points.
The agreement includes a key condition:
- Iran must reopen the Strait of Hormuz within the two-week period
- Trump stated that both sides will follow the ceasefire during this time.
