TCS Fresher Hiring Plan For FY 2026–27

Planned Recruitment of Fresh Graduates

  • Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) plans to hire 25,000 freshers during the financial year 2026–27. K. Krithivasan who serves as the company's Managing Director and CEO made the announcement.
  • He said that business demand can lead to an increase of the final count. The company will make hiring decisions based on both project requirements and current market conditions.

Comparison with Previous Hiring Trends

  • TCS hired 44000 new employees in the 2025 2026 fiscal year. This made the company one of the largest private-sector recruiters during that period.
  • Krithivasan explained that the company has maintained a steady hiring pattern. TCS recruits a minimum of 40000 new employees each year for the past three years.

Fresher Training vs Lateral Hiring

The company follows a structured approach to workforce planning.

  • A fresher requires about nine months of training
  • A fresher reaches full productivity after completing training
  • A lateral hire (from another company) can start work immediately

Krithasan explained that the company changes its hiring patterns to meet its business requirements. The organization needs both fresh graduates and experienced personnel for essential functions.

Layoffs and Job Security

During 2025–26 TCS reduced its workforce by 12000 employees.

Krithasan clarified two key points:

  • The layoffs mainly affected senior-level employees
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) was not the primary reason for these job cuts

He also stated that employees who show strong performance can expect stable career growth within the company.
