- Political parties are releasing their election manifestos because the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections have reached their upcoming date. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also announced its list of promises for voters in the state. Union Minister J.P. Nadda released the manifesto along with state party leaders.
- The document contains financial support programs together with subsidies and welfare initiatives which target various demographic groups with special focus on women and domestic units.
Financial support for women and households
- The BJP has proposed a monthly payment of ₹2,000 for the female head of each household. This support serves as a form of continuous financial assistance.
- The manifesto also includes a one-time payment of ₹10,000 which will be given to all households.
- Women who buy e-scooters will receive a subsidy of ₹25,000. First-time women homebuyers may also get a 3% reduction in stamp duty.
- Women who breed Jallikattu bulls will receive monthly payments of ₹2,000.
Subsidies and household benefits
- The party has included the distribution of three free LPG cylinders each year. These cylinders will be given to people during the Pongal and Diwali and Tamil New Year celebrations.
- Women may also receive coupons worth ₹8,000. These coupons can be used to buy or replace household items such as televisions and other appliances.
Support related to culture and tradition
- The manifesto includes compensation of ₹10 lakh for families of people who die while participating in Jallikattu events.
- The proposal includes a monthly payment of ₹2,000 for individuals who take care of Jallikattu bulls.
Safety and infrastructure proposals
The BJP has proposed the installation of CCTV cameras in schools and universities across Tamil Nadu. This system will improve security for educational institutions.
