Voting Across States
- The single voting day for all 234 Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu will take place on this date. West Bengal has begun its first voting round which will continue until the final voting round ends.
- The elections in Umreth Gujarat and Baramati and Rahuri Maharashtra will include by-elections.
Voter Turnout So Far
The state of Tamil Nadu achieved a voter turnout of 37.56 percent by 11:00 AM. West Bengal reported a voter turnout of 41.11 percent during its initial voting period. The voting numbers will increase throughout the day because of active voting.
Political Leaders
P. Chidambaram cast his vote in Sivaganga. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin cast his vote with Durga Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin at the polling station in Chennai.
Public Figures
Vijay cast his vote in Chennai while running for two different electoral districts. Rajinikanth Kamal Haasan Shruti Haasan Ajith Vikram and Dhruv Vikram cast their votes. Khushbu and Trisha were among other participants.
Ajith Comment Clarification
Reports suggested Ajith made a remark about not needing change after voting. His manager later denied this. Earlier, M.K. Stalin had responded to the reported statement.
