The development process for the movie Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse had already started prior to the 2018 launch of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In the middle of the production process, both parts of the sequel, Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse, were being created simultaneously. Originally, Beyond the Spider-Verse was set for release in March 2024; however, its priority was shifted, there was a considerable revision of the script and the animations, and then the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike caused the halt of production and pushed back its release until after the second film was launched and the strike was resolved. Then, in December 2023, the creators were disclosed and a new release date was provided by March 2025.
The premiere of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will take place in the US on June 18, 2027.
