'Star Wars: Starfighter' is an upcoming science fiction film in the American space opera series produced by Lucasfilm and 21 Laps Entertainment. It will be released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and is expected to become part of the Star Wars saga. The movie will take place five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and stars Ryan Gosling, Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams.

The development of the film started in November 2022 when Levy held talks to become the director. Development stalled due to the Writers Guild of America strike that happened in 2023. Tropper joined as the screenwriter in July 2024, whereas Levy remained as the director. Levy and the main actors announced the title of the movie and Gosling's casting in April 2025. The full cast announcement came in August when filming started in the United Kingdom. Shooting also took place in Sardinia, Italy, and wrapped in December.
Star Wars: Starfighter is set to premiere in theatres in the USA on May 28, 2027.
