'Minions & Monsters' is an upcoming American comedy animated film directed by Pierre Coffin and co-written by Pierre Coffin and Brian Lynch. An Illumination Entertainment production and Universal Pictures distribution company release, Minions & Monsters is a prequel to the Minions film series and the seventh instalment in the Despicable Me film series. The main cast includes Pierre Coffin, who will reprise the role of Minions along with actors such as Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jeff Bridges, Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, Phil LaMarr, and Trey Parker. The plot of Minions & Monsters will be set some 40 years before the events of Minions (2015).

Announced in July 2024, following the release of Despicable Me 4, Minions & Monsters has Coffin and Lynch return to direct and write the film, while Chris Meledandri produces, along with Bill Ryan. John Powell has signed on to produce the score for the film, making this his third time working with Illumination, previously contributing to The Lorax (2012) and Migration (2023), as well as the only Despicable Me film thus far not scored by Heitor Pereira.

Premiering at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 21, 2026, Minions & Monsters will then debut in theaters throughout the United States on July 1.
