The development of the sequel was announced in 2025 and the participation of Jason Statham in it as Adam Clay was confirmed. As the director of the sequel to the franchise Timo Tjahjanto joined the project.Throughout 2025, the cast continued to expand and include Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi and Jemma Redgrave returning to the film, as well as Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland joining the cast.Principal photography of the film took place in the United Kingdom, including production at Shepperton Studios.
