India Storm Into Junior Asia Cup Hockey Semi-Finals After 15-0 Win

India recorded another emphatic win at the 2026 Junior Asia Cup Hockey tournament as they thumped Chinese Taipei 15-0 in their final Pool A match to set up a semi-final clash.

The defending champions ended the pool stage as the leaders in the group with 10 points from three wins and one draw.

Anmol Ekka Shines as India's Star Scorer

• Indian captain Anmol Ekka starred with an astonishing haul of six goals against Chinese Taipei, all of which came from set pieces.
• The India skipper netted in the 25th, 29th, 32nd, 33rd, 45th and 51st minutes to register one of the best individual performances in the tournament so far.
• India drew first blood in the match, but it took them some time to find their feet as neither team scored in the opening quarter.
• However, they quickly turned it on after the restart, and once India got going, the goals started flowing in.

India Post Big Win over Chinese Taipei

Ajeet Yadav, Harpal and Aryan Xess all got on the scoresheet as India piled on the misery, while Prabhdeep Singh, Gurusewak Singh and Arjun Santosh Hargude also got in on the act.

India were too strong for their hosts in all aspects of the game, and they made the most of their penalty-corner opportunities to record a comfortable 15-0 win.

India Finished First in Pool A

They earned 10 points from three wins and one draw in the group stage to finish first, and South Korea booked their place in the semi-finals after they edged out Japan 3-2 in their final Pool A match.

India started their campaign in the tournament in stunning fashion, with a 14-0 win over Indonesia, but they were held to a 3-3 draw by Japan and a 7-3 victory over South Korea.

The junior men's team of India are looking to defend their Junior Asia Cup Hockey title.

• India are one of the most successful teams in the history of the Junior Asia Cup, and their recent performances only further their credentials as title contenders in the 2026 edition.
• The defending champions are set to face the winner of the Pool B match between India and South Korea in the semi-finals.
• The 2026 Men's Junior Asia Cup is taking place in Moqi, China, from September 4 to September 13, with the semi-finals on September 11 and the final on September 13.
