Why has Jio Launched Voice Only Recharge?
Because of new guidelines from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
TRAI has asked telecom providers to offer short term voice only and SMS only recharge plans. These include plans with a 30 day or less validity and monthly validity.
Previously many telecom companies have offered long term voice only plans, such as 84 day plans. For those who don’t need data, there were few affordable options.
The new guidelines ensure customers get more flexibility and those who don’t require mobile data won’t be charged for data packages.
