New Feature to Make Storage Control Easier
Meta's messaging app WhatsApp is adding a new storage management feature right within the chat window. The feature update will allow users to scan and monitor device storage without accessing the app's settings. Users will have an easy way to view, scan, and clear storage space with a few taps. The feature will allow users to instantly locate and remove big files that take up too much space.
As per a post by WABetaInfo, the feature is in the testing phase at present and will soon be rolled out to all the users.
Easy File Management with New Tools
- With this latest update, users of WhatsApp can now see files shared in chats organized by size from largest to smallest. The unnecessary files are easily deleted freeing up space. The feature also allows for bulk deletion where files can be deleted en masse.
- Moreover, users can also mark significant files as "starred" to avoid unintentional deletion. Another feature to pin chosen files to the top of the storage window is also in the works.
- At present, this shortcut tool is available only to Google Play Beta program members, but it will be released for all users once testing is over.
