Using a video conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch ten new Vande Bharat trains on Tuesday, two of which will depart from Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Modi is scheduled to launch the trains from Ahmedabad.
The two new trains would bring the total number of Vande Bharat trains that depart from Vishakhapatnam to three.
Between Puri and Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam, the new trains will run.
The Prime Minister will launch ten Vande Bharat trains today, according to Divisional Railway Manager Sourabh Prasad, who was speaking with the news agency ANI.
"We shall be stopping at Visakhapatnam with two trains. There are two types of the Vande Bharat Express: the Puri-Visakhapatnam and the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam. The Puri-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express would virtually launch at nine in the morning," he continued.
He added that the two new trains would be flagged off with an inaugural ceremony at the Visakhapatnam station.
"A lot of other projects will also be dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister, including the 'One Station, One Product' (OSOP) stalls," Prasad stated.
The Union Ministry of Railways introduced the OSOP programme to support the Centre's 'Vocal for Local' initiative.
There are now 41 such trains running throughout the Indian Railways network since the Prime Minister launched the inaugural Vande Bharat train from Delhi to Varanasi in 2010.
