Gujarat Officials Arrest Six Pakistani Nationals With Rs 400 Crore Worth Of Drugs

Officials announced on Tuesday that six Pakistani nationals were detained close to Porbandar, Gujarat, in a boat that had drugs worth Rs 400 crore.

The Pakistani nationals were apprehended last night while attempting to enter Indian territory by agents of the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Indian Coast Guard, and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), who were acting on a tip.

The Gujarat ATS claims that the six individuals were attempting to use an Indian boat to transport illegal substances into Delhi and Punjab.

The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, commended the ATS for the operation and said the officials would get a reward of Rs 10 lakh.

In the previous thirty days, two significant drug shipments have been intercepted off the coast of Gujarat.

Off the coast of Gujarat, on February 28, at least 3,300 kg of heroin were taken from a boat carrying people who appeared to be Pakistani crew members. These medications were worth over Rs 2,000 crore on the global market.

This drug seizure represents the largest on the Indian subcontinent.

In a number of maritime operations, the Indian Coast Guard had previously found drugs valued at crores of rupees.
