India's Participation in Asia Cup Not Confirmed
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has clarified that Indian news reports about India pulling out of the Asia Cup are false.
There were reports that India could forego the Men's Asia Cup and the Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup due to strained relations with Pakistan.
BCCI Denies Speculations About Withdrawal
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed there is no decision yet on participating in these events. He clearly said,
“There is no truth in these reports. The BCCI is not discussing those tournaments currently.”
BCCI’s Current Focus Remains on IPL and England Series
According to Saikia, the board is focused on the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the upcoming five-match Test series against England.
