
New Name of Trophy Announced
The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will now be awarded to the winner of the Test series between India and England. This was already announced by the BCCI and the England Cricket Board.
Official Unveiling Event
The new trophy was presented on Thursday. This was done prior to the first Test match, which was to begin on Friday. The event was graced by iconic cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson.
Former Trophy Names Retired
Previously, various trophies were utilized depending on the location:
- In England, the Pataudi Trophy was presented.
- In India, the Anthony de Mello Trophy was awarded.
Now, the Pataudi Trophy has been retired. From now on, regardless of where the series is hosted, the winner will be awarded the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
Further Honours for Winning Captain
The winning captain will also get the Pataudi Medal.

Sachin Tendulkar:

James Anderson:

- Muttiah Muralitharan: 800 wickets.
- Shane Warne: 709 wickets.
