Pakistan Out As Women's ODI World Cup Final Moved To India

The Women's ODI World Cup league stage is nearing completion. Three teams have reached the semi-finals, and the fourth spot is open. Bangladesh and Pakistan are eliminated from the tournament with one match each left.

India, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka are fighting for the remaining semi-final spot.

Final Match Venue Confirmed

The final of the Women's ODI World Cup will be played in India with Navi Mumbai as a definite host city. This was made possible after Pakistan's exit. In case Pakistan had reached the final, the match would have been played in Colombo due to scheduling and logistics reasons.

As Pakistan is now out, the ICC confirmed that the final will remain in India.

Semi-Final Venues and Schedule

  • The initial semi-final will be on the 29th of October, and Indore is likely to host it.
  • The second semi-final will be on the 30th of October in Navi Mumbai.
  • The final will be on the 2nd of November in Navi Mumbai.
  • India's Next Match Crucial for Qualification
  • India started well, winning its first two matches but subsequently losing three in a row, jeopardizing its chances in the semi-finals.
  • The Thursday match against New Zealand is critical. A loss could be very difficult for India to make it to the semi-finals. Apart from India, only Sri Lanka and New Zealand are in contention for the final semi-final spot.
  • In the event of India defeating New Zealand, the team will qualify without further issues. Their final league match is against Bangladesh on October 26.
