Abhishek Nayar Confident About Suryakumar Yadav's Return To Form Against Australia

India to Host Five-Match Series Against Australia

India is going to host Australia in a five-match T20 series in the near future. Everyone's eyes are on Suryakumar Yadav, who is the new Indian captain. Suryakumar hasn't produced big scores in the recent international matches. Though he was looked out of touch in some parts of the Asia Cup, overall his performance has been alright.

Abhishek Nayar, a former cricketer turned coach now, had faith that Suryakumar would once again be in his destructive form. He remembered the game of Suryakumar in the IPL, where he had scored more than 700 runs last season.

Former Coach Speaks His Mind

Nair opined that the upcoming Australia series will be thrilling. He also mentioned that team success can sometimes hide an individual's work and question the same when the outing is fluctuating. Suryakumar, whose world No. 1 T20 batter rating has gone on for years, will perhaps fall under some sort of scrutiny in the side, according to him.

But Nair believes that the pitch conditions in Australia will suit Suryakumar's batting and especially due to the bounce and speed. He also added that recent poor performances wouldn't affect Suryakumar's confidence levels and everyone forgot that his form in IPL was brilliant.

Suryakumar's Recent Form Raises Questions

Up to now until this point in time this year, Suryakumar Yadav has appeared in 12 T20 internationals but has yet to make even a single half-century. His biggest score till date is 47 runs, which he has made against Pakistan in Asia Cup. This failure to score big innings has been disappointing for the fans, particularly as Suryakumar is known to play aggressive and fearless cricket.

There are controversies surrounding his captaincy as well, and Shubman Gill is most likely to be the alternate. There are opinions that a successful performance in the series ahead could secure Suryakumar's captaincy role for before next year's T20 World Cup.
